RICKI Lamie insists Morton are looking to avenge their 3-0 defeat in Dumfries when they host Queen of the South on Saturday.

Ton went down to a rampant Queens side that afternoon who dominated throughout the 90 minutes against the Greenock men — who lost striker Gary Oliver to injury in the process.

Lamie reckons it’s time to put that result right on home turf, and his side are fully intent on doing so this Saturday in the late kick-off.

He told the Tele: “Obviously there’s never any easy fixtures but with Falkirk matching us all the way and Queens have hit a bit of form again, we will definitely be looking to put right our last result at Palmerston.

“We’re focused on that. You can’t take anything for granted, right from the start, it doesn’t matter where we’ve been.

“We don’t look at the fixture list and say ‘we should pick up points here and there’ because teams nearer the bottom of the league can easily hold those at the top like a few weekends ago.

“If you don’t turn up on the day the points are there for the taking. But we’ll be glad to have two or three faces back to add to the squad and take it from there.”
