MORTON skipper Lee Kilday says that former team-mates Aidan Nesbitt and Jamie Lindsay can make the grade at Celtic.

Nesbitt and Lindsay enjoyed a fruitful season at Cappielow last term, helping the Ton to the Premiership play-offs via a fourth-placed finish in the Championship.

And Kilday saw enough of the pair to feel they have what it takes to make a go of it at Brendan RodgersHoops outfit after returning to Parkhead at the end of last season.

He told the Tele: “I think Jamie and Aidan will go back to Celtic, do pre-season there and see how it goes. Hopefully they can get a chance because the pair of them have been absolutely brilliant for us all season.

“Jamie in the middle of the park has got everything you need to be a successful central midfield player. He’s good on the ball, he can get about the pitch and he can put his foot in. Hopefully he goes back to Celtic and he gets his chance.

“Aidan as well is still young. He’s only 20 and you can see the young boys are getting a few games at Celtic now under Brendan Rodgers, so hopefully they can go back and get their chance.

“I don’t see why they can’t play for Celtic and in the Premiership. The Championship is a hard league, there’s a lot of good teams here and they’ve shown that they’re good enough to play every week consistently, which they have been every week. So it’s just about getting a chance.

“I know Celtic obviously have big names and things like that but if they go back and work hard, I don’t see why they can’t and won’t get a chance.”
