LEWIS Strapp insists this feels like his first real season as a professional — because he doesn’t have to wash his own kit.

Strapp has been a mainstay in Morton’s development squad for a number of years and has been on the fringes of making a breakthrough with the first team in recent times.

Having spent all of his pre-season training with the first team and enjoying the comforts of the first team dressing room, the young left-back finally feels like he’s a fully fledged member of Jim Duffy’s squad.

Speaking exclusively to the Tele, Strapp said: “When we came back to start pre-season we were in the first-team changing room, which is a different atmosphere. You don’t have to wash your own kit and things like that!

“But it feels a lot better being in training with the first team every day because you’re always getting better and pushing yourself constantly. It 100 per cent feels like it’s my first real pre-season as a professional.

“You’re in there at 100 miles an hour, it’s so serious and is completely different from the 20s and I prefer that. It got to a point with the 20s — because I was starting to get involved with the first team towards the end of the season — that that was where I wanted to be, with the first team.”
