MORTON front man Bob McHugh insists he would have loved to bag another goal to win Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Dumbarton - but he’ll take the one he did score going into this weekend’s big Renfrewshire derby.

McHugh levelled proceedings at Cappielow for Ton after Mark Stewart had struck early for Dumbarton.

And McHugh says he was pleased to score the type of poacher’s goal he is known for.

He told the Tele: “We were looking to pick up the three points at home of course but we made it difficult for ourselves after conceding the early goal.

“That allowed Dumbarton to sit a lot deeper and it was then up to us to break them down. We’ve managed to save the point but we’ll be a bit frustrated not to take all three.

“The goal I scored is the type I want to score.

“Making sharp movements round about the edge of the box. That’s the goals I’m known for and, from a personal note, if I can get a few more of them I’ll be delighted.

“I would’ve liked another goal of course to get all three points but we’ll take the point and move on to a big game with St Mirren next week.”
