BOB McHugh insists he’d love to help Morton create more chances than they have in recent weeks.

Ton have scored just 15 goals in the league this season so far despite having double the amount of recognised strikers as last term.

And McHugh believes the goalscoring tally could do with a bit of improvement as they chase a second consecutive play-off spot in the Championship.

The striker, who has netted six times in all competitions, also admits he would prefer to have scored more and says the Ton forwards will continue to work hard to create more in the final third.

He told the Tele: “As strikers we’ve been working on creating as many clear-cut chances as we can. It’s just like not conceding goals at the other end because it’s a team game.

“But I do think we could be creating more chances. Obviously as a striker you’re looking to get a good few every game but the last few weeks it hasn’t quite been happening for us.

“And personally I would have liked a few more goals.

“The main thing though I think is that the team is performing. As long as we’re picking up three points from now until the end of the season, even if there aren’t too many chances fall our way each game — I’m sure nobody will be complaining.”
