BOB McHugh has been satisfied with his own personal performances in the last few weeks but admits he would sacrifice personal glory for Morton victories every match day.
McHugh won the penalty from which Ton netted the opener in last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Queen of the South and came off the bench against St Mirren the week prior to make an impact in the derby.
But while he’s content with his own contribution - a six goal haul in all competitions so far - he would be far happier if Ton were further up the Ladbrokes Championship table.
He told the Tele: “We’ve been disappointed with competitive results over the last few weeks.
“I’ve been playing okay personally but I think I would always take three points over my own personal performances.
“If you look back to the Queen of the South game in particular I thought we started really well, which allowed me to get involved a bit more than perhaps I have been recently.
“It was good to get the ball in their half and it let me run about which resulted in our goal.
“Unfortunately we didn’t quite manage to continue that throughout the game but we did start well and that showed what we can do if we perform.
“Hopefully we are able to push on and improve performances and, more importantly, results going forward.”
