MORTON forward Jai Quitongo says there’s no rush to sort out his Ton future just yet.

The 20-year-old’s current contract ends next month, but the former Aberdeen youth product has been offered a new deal by the club.

The Cappielow club are still on the lookout for a new manager, with interviews for the vacant position taking place this week as they hunt for a replacement for Jim Duffy.

While the Greenock side’s older players have to ‘wait and see’ regarding their Morton future, the club’s hierarchy decided to offer players under-23 contracts for next season.

This prevents Morton losing the younger players on a free transfer, and if another club would like to sign them, the Inverclyde team would be due compensation.

But Quitongo, who has been at Cappielow since 2015, says he is in no hurry to sign the contract.

He told the Tele: “I’ve not really gone into my offer to much at the moment. My agent is on holiday right now and I’m going on holiday soon as well.

“I need to wait and see who the new manager, what his plans are, his thought process and speak to everyone at the club and see what the best solution is.

“There’s no rush for me to jump into anything.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at Morton. They’ve given me a platform to play at and I just need to come back from my holiday and see what’s the best solution for me.”
