JACK Iredale says he is looking forward to life under new manager Ray McKinnon.

The Greenock-born Australian defender returned to Scotland this week after spending the last month back home in Perth, where he grew up on Australia’s west coast.

The left-back, who was converted from centre-back when he originally joined from ECU Joondalup last year, signed a one-year deal at Morton shortly after the season ended.

A lot a has gone on since the defender went away, but after meeting the new boss this week, Iredale is keen to get started, with the players returning to pre-season tomorrow.

The 22-year-old, who played 14 times for the Ton last season, is hoping to continue the season where he left off, after impressing at the end of the campaign in the Morton defence.

He told the Tele: “It’s been a busy few weeks hasn’t it?

“I went in and met him on Monday and met the team that he’s brought in with the backroom staff. “It was a good first meeting, I just wanted to meet him face-to-face before pre-season started.

“We had a brief talk about my position, about how I’m enjoying it and spoke about my family coming over to hopefully come and see me play during the League Cup games.”
