MORTON have signed former Partick Thistle goalkeeper Ryan Scully this afternoon.

The 25-year-old penned a one-year deal after spending the last decade with the Jags.

But after their relegation from the Premiership, after losing in the play-off final to Livingston, Scully was one of 17 players to be released, and Ray McKinnon has moved quickly to sign up his second goalkeeper.

The Morton boss previously told the Tele he was keen to have two top quality goalkeepers competing for the number one jersey, and now has his second goalkeeper, after Derek Gaston agreed to sign on recently.

Scully has also had stints on loan at junior side Petershill, Albion Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic during two loan spells between 2013-15, where he established himself as the first choice goalkeeper.

The Irishman’s signature moves McKinnon’s first team squad up to 15 players so far, with the manager previously stating he wanted a squad of 18 backed up by four youngsters.
