CHRIS Millar rates his second goal against Alloa as one of the best in his career.

The midfielder scored twice as he helped Morton to a 2-0 win at the weekend.

His second strike of the day came with nine minutes to go, curling a lovely finish in from outside the box from 25 yards into the top corner.

While he was pleased with his own strike, the 35-year-old believes another one of his goals for Morton 14 years ago tops his second against the Wasps.

He told the Tele: “My goal against Berwick in 2004 is always going to be up there at the top. It’s one of my best strikes, but this one is definitely up there.

“My second goal on Saturday gave us that breathing space, and we’re absolutely delighted with the win.

“We’ve got four points from six, it’s a good start and it gives us something to build on.”

Morton take a break from league action tonight to take on Dumbarton in the Irn Bru Cup.

Millar hasn’t taken part in the competition since his last spell at Cappielow in 2008, and says he’s ready to play his part if called upon.

He added: “I’ve not played that in a while. I’m not sure what the gaffer is going to do, and if there is going to be a bit of rotation there.

“But we’re going into the game off the back of a bit of confidence and we’ll try and get a win.”
