GREENOCK Glenpark Harrier Emma Baxter won an unusual road race in Spain.
It involved running around one of the world’s most famous buildings — eight times!
Competitors became more than a little familiar with Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia church, a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts tourists from around the globe.
Athletes covered eight laps and a total of 5.3 miles on the twisting and slightly hilly course around the church, which was designed by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí.
Emma, 24, broke the tape in the women’s race on 33 minutes 56 seconds, and was 18th overall out of a total field of 186.
A post-race interview was shown to the spectators on a large screen.
She said: “It was great to take part in a unique race running around the world-famous Sagrada Familia.
“There were a lot people out supporting the runners, which definitely helped.”
