GREENOCK Glenpark Harrier Emma Baxter triumphed in the Largs Rotary 10k on Sunday.
The 17-year-old won the women"s race in a personal best of 42 minutes 38 seconds, and was seventh overall.
She was the youngest-ever winner of the event three years ago.
The men"s race was won by Kevin Hutchinson, 30, of Kilbirnie in 35-51, ahead of Glenpark"s Robert Wilson and Robert Wilson Junior in second and third.
Emma is also on course to win Glenpark"s women"s championship this year.
She said: 'I was pleased to get a personal best on this hard course.'
The Largs 10k is reckoned to be one of the toughest in the country, with two significant inclines just after the start in Barrfields Stadium..
The route winds down to and along the prom and returns uphill to the back of the town before finishing with a lap of Barrfields.
This was the 25th year of the race, and organiser Peter Grant said he was delighted that 63 runners took part.
He said: 'It was only seven less than last year despite the fact that a women"s 10k was taking place in Glasgow on Sunday.
'The weather turned out to be really good and everyone enjoyed themselves.'
All the proceeds from the race are going to the Children"s Hospice Association Scotland.
