INVERCLYDE Athletic Club members were honoured to carry the Queen’s Baton when the Commonwealth Games relay reached Inverclyde on Monday.
Members selected to take part in the prestigious relay included Emma Forster, Kay Cooke, Rachael Bushfield, Hugh Docherty, Clare Kelly, Rhona Bushfield, Janice Hendrie and Gerry Gaffney.
It was also a proud day for Hugh Cameron, pictured, who brought along his father’s 1938 Empire Games medal.
Hugh’s father, also named Hugh, won the prize in Sydney for boxing at flyweight.
IAC athletes were cheered on by crowds who turned out to see the relay — as well as Zoomin Zebra, the club’s mascot.
