INVERCLYDE have their final home match of the season tomorrow when they host Vale of Leven at Gourock Park. Last weekend Inverclyde’s home game against second-top Motherwell was eventually abandoned after 36 overs with Motherwell well placed at 156 for four, although conditions had become very difficult for Clyde’s bowlers and fielders after initially performing well to restrict the visitors to 95 for four after 25 overs. Vale were able to complete an early victory in their match against Bute and have now moved ahead of Inverclyde into third place in the WDCU Championship, but Inverclyde would leapfrog Vale with a victory tomorrow, with two away games to follow.

It is therefore Inverclyde’s most important game of the season and, although vice captain David Bruce misses out through work commitments, captain Dave Cooke is able to field a strong side.

The following players should report to Gourock Park by 11.20am: Dave Cooke, Chris Boswell, Scott Campbell, Steve Gregory, Danny Gregory, Gareth James, Alastair Johnstone, Tommy McDade, Douglas Pilkington, William Rice, Paul Singh, David Thomson, Craig Watson. Junior training continues at Gourock Park for two more Sundays, 24 and 31 August, from 10am until noon.

Match sponsors are Prodream USA.
