Indoor cricket club under way
INVERCLYDE Cricket Club have announced the start of their indoor practices.
It will commence on Sunday from 10am to noon at the Lady Octavia Sports Centre, and will continue at the same time every Sunday until the season starts at the end of April.
After the recent AGM, a new committee is in place with Craig Watson taking over as club president and Chris Boswell, pictured, as captain.
Chris is keen to get a good support from members at the practices, with the excellent cricket facilities at Lady Octavia allowing good net practice for batsmen, bowlers and fielders.
Inverclyde are also offering coaching to newcomers to the game, for all age groups, juniors and seniors, with qualified coaches being present each week for coaching sessions.
Secondary school pupils are invited to these Sunday morning practice and coaching sessions, at any time between 10am and noon, where experienced players and coaches will be present to teach you about the game.
These sessions are being offered this year at no cost to members and new players.
The club is also pleased to be able to offer midweek Kwik Cricket coaching for primary school pupils, again at no cost to participants.
These will be taking place on Wednesday evenings from 6.15 to 7.15 pm in Gourock Scout halls, Drumshantie Road, starting on Wednesday 22 February.
