MORTON have snapped up a new striker as Lawrence Shankland joins the club on loan from Aberdeen.
The 21-year-old has spent this season farmed out to Ton's bitter county rivals St Mirren but recently headed back to his parent club and now he will make the switch to Cappielow.
Shankland will be with the club until the end of the season.
He put pen to paper this afternoon and is set to link up with his new team-mates at training at Parklea tomorrow.
Ton boss Jim Duffy said: “We’re delighted to have been able to bring Lawrence in on loan until the end of the season.
“We’ve looked around, all over the place to be honest, and just tried to get the best options available to us, and Lawrence has always been someone we’ve knew about.
“He knows the Championship; he’s been at St Mirren. I don’t think it was as prolific a move as he would have hoped but I don’t think that can detract from the fact he’s a talented goalscorer and he’ll give us something different at the top end of the pitch.
"I’m sure he’ll fit in well with how we play and if we can get the service to him, I’m really confident he can be a success and score some important goals for us."
