NOW FOR COUNTY: Ton's Jim McAlister now wants to put one over second top Ross County on Saturday at Cappielow.
HAVING continued to be Queen of the South's hoodoo opponents at Dumfries last week, Morton's Jim McAlister is hoping he and his mates can lay their own bogey to rest this Saturday at Cappielow.
Ross County are the opponents and they have won six and drawn one of the eight meetings over the past two seasons between the teams.
McAlister said: "Hopefully we can put that one to bed.
"It's strange. I've never been beaten down at Dumfries. When we go down there we just have that
feeling before the game that we're not going to lose.
"We were very comfortable again in the first half. Even in the second we never looked like conceding.
"We haven't had the best away record, but we've won two on the trot and hopefully we can push on
"We've only beaten Ross County once. I think they're the best team we've played. They're good going
forward, but we've been tight at the back and hopefully we can snuff them out."
Both Kevins - Finlayson and McKinlay - are suspended on Saturday, meaning at least one change in the starting line-up and one on the bench, but McAlister said: "We've got a good squad and I'm quite sure we can adapt.
As for Saturday, - can the Ton kick on? "A Morton win by one or two goals," said McAlister.
