DOUGLAS Rae insists Allan Moore is the man to lead Morton into the Premier League - but urged the fans to give him time.
The new Ton boss will be handed a budget to bring in eight new players but Rae claims he would be satisfied with a mid-table finish next season.
He said: "We will have eight new players, plus a new boss, who is the top manager in the Scottish Football League.
"If you are a fan you have got to have a sense that now we're going places.
"The fans have to give him time. It is hard to bring in eight new players and mould them straight away. That process takes time but Allan is the man to do it.
"I'd be happy if we finished fifth or sixth next season. We certainly don't want to be in the relegation zone.
"We want to build the team and in three years time be making a real fist of getting into the SPL.
"If we get into that position and then got up into the SPL, then we would want to have a team capable of staying there.
"We would not want to be one-season wonders."
