TRIAL: Allan Moore.

MORTON have taken a squad of 23 players on their pre-season trip to the north of England.

The Nigerian centre-forward who impressed against Ton in a bounce game last week will join up with Allan Moore's squad ahead of tonight's clash with Blyth Spartans.

Ex-Clyde defender Alan Lithgow has been included in the list after coming through a training session yesterday following a hamstring strain, and former Bolton midfielder Stuart McDonald will join the squad for the second game, against Gateshead on Thursday.

Moore, pictured, said: "Once we get these two games out of the way we will have a better idea of the boys we want to bring into the squad for next season."

The Ton manager is keen to secure cover at centre-half, where the club only have Marc Smyth and Stewart Greacen.

The right side of both defence and midfield are the other areas which needs strengthened.
