CAPPIELOW played host to its second international match of the week yesterday - in glorious sunshine.

Morton’s ground was chosen to host two closed-door games between Scotland and Malta’s under-19 sides, while the Scots train nearby at the Sportscotland centre in Largs.

The games also brought a return to the Cappielow dugout for former Morton manager Billy Stark, who is preparing his side for a hat-trick of European Championship qualifiers against Liechtenstein, Estonia and Norway beginning late next month.

Yesterday’s game, following one on Monday evening, saw the young Scottish stars beat their Maltese counterparts 2-1.
