FIFE TRIP: Allan Moore.

ALLAN Moore has warned against reading too much into Raith’s sparkling start to the season - and believes Morton can bring their run to an end when they travel to Fife tomorrow.

Raith currently top the first division following three consecutive league victories and sent SPL side Hamilton Academical crashing out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup on Tuesday night.

But the Ton manager has not been unduly fazed and thinks Raith’s blistering start could be down to a lack of transfer activity at the club.

Moore, pictured, said: “Raith are flying but they got off to a good start last year as well. They’ve not changed their personnel that much so they’ve got a good continuity in the team.

“Raith have John McGlynn who has been there for a while, and they haven’t really brought new faces in over the summer.

“The team have gelled a bit better than a lot of other teams who have chopped and changed.

“But there’s no reason why we should fear them. We beat Partick Thistle on Saturday and I think we should be looking to go up there and beat them.

“They’ve got off to a good start, but it is only a good start. We’ve done quite well too despite bringing in a lot of new players and having a new management team.”

Raith have scored nine times in their opening three league games, while conceding just once, and Moore is fully aware of the threat his side will face.

He said: “They have Gregory Tade, who I tried to get at Stirling, and he’s a handful, and John Baird can score goals so we’ve got to do our best.

“Their defence has also played really well so they have got that confidence.”

And Moore is looking for his players to improve their own prospects tomorrow by bettering the supply to the strikers.

He said: “We need to start creating more chances. We can’t keep blaming our strikers because I don’t think they are getting the supply.

“If you look at the two goals we lost the other night they were from good crosses into the box. We’re not doing that and we need to address that.”
