Moore wants more from players
ALLAN Moore has challenged his fringe players to up their game after they failed to make an impression in either of the club’s two bounce games this week.
Morton lost 4-1 to Dumbarton on Monday night and 4-0 to Celtic yesterday at Lennoxtown. However, Ton’s injury crisis means their next chance to impress again may come sooner rather than later.
Moore, right, said: “I wasn’t happy with the performances of the first-team players or the boys pushing for a first-team spot in the games.
“It was an opportunity for the strikers, in particular, to put some pressure on Peter Weatherson and Stewart Kean but it didn’t work out.
“In the second game, Celtic had a really good team out, with players like Paddy McCourt and Marc Crosas, but we didn’t perform.”
