Jenkins: I'll be fit for Saturday
ALLAN Jenkins has handed Ton boss Allan Moore a boost by declaring himself fit for the visit of Cowdenbeath to Cappielow tomorrow.
The midfielder was taken off in Wednesday’s bounce game against Celtic after picking up a foot knock.
Moore was worried Jenks would be another addition to his growing injury list, but the former Gretna man is ready for tomorrow’s clash.
Jenkins said: “I went in for a 50-50 challenge, the boy got there before and I kicked right through on to his studs. The manager saw me hobbling, took me straight off, and I got some ice on it.
“I wasn’t able to speak to the physio after the game because he went to the hospital with Carlo Monti [who injured ankle ligaments in the same game], but I phoned Mark McNally later to say I would be fine for Saturday.
“As long as nothing happens to me at training on Friday then I’ll be 100 per cent for the game on Saturday and keen to get a run in the team.”
Moore has Monti, David MacGregor, Kevin McKinlay, Nathan Shephard and Ryan Kane all out injured, while the club are monitoring Fouad Bachirou, who has a stomach injury.
