Loan-deal move hits cash snag
ALLAN Moore has confirmed he is interested in bringing St Johnstone striker Andy Jackson to Morton on loan - but the deal has stalled as the clubs cannot agree terms.
Jackson, 22, has been dogged by injury and a rare bowel condition which has restricted his involvement with the SPL side for the past couple of years.
Saints boss Derek McInnes is keen to farm the forward out on loan to give him game time, having recently handed him a contract until the end of the season.
But while Ton boss Moore was ready to swoop, the club cannot meet the wage terms St Johnstone want as part of the deal.
Moore said: "Andy Jackson is one we have looked at and we spoke to St Johnstone about him, but it's not gone any further because of the wage demands.
"I had looked at his form since he came back from injury and inquired about him but myself and Derek can't reach an agreement on what we will pay for him and what they want.
"They want to get him out on loan but they are asking for a bit too much more than we can afford, and that's the stumbling block at the moment."
