MICHAEL Tidser has revealed that he is set for talks with Morton boss Allan Moore to decide whether he is ready to make his return from injury against Partick Thistle today.

The precocious Ton midfielder has not played since September when he was forced to undergo a minor operation on a recurring knee problem.

The 21-year-old had been scheduled to make his long-awaited return last weekend, only to pull out due to a minor muscle strain.

But while Tidser is eager to play it safe and avoid suffering another setback he admits that it has been agony spending almost two months on the sidelines.

Tidser told the Tele: "It's been torture - it's really hard to turn up and watch the boys but know that you can't get involved yourself.

"But I knew that I had to take my time and not rush it back otherwise I would pick up more niggling injuries.

"I'm glad that it's all out of the way now and hopefully I can concentrate on getting fully fit and getting back and helping the boys get back up the league.

"The injury is fine - I had a wee strain last week but I've been getting treatment and have done a wee bit of training and it feels fine.

"I will have a chat with the manager and we will decide what the best thing is for me, whether I can play a part or not.

"I don't want to rush it back and maybe get a wee setback so we are just going to see how it is and take it from there." Tidser has already made a return of sorts when he took part in a series of five-a-side games on Thursday as the Cappielow squad prepared to take on the Firhill club.

And his team-mates will have been heartened to see the former Celtic youngster coming through the session with no adverse effects.

He said: "We had a few games of fives and did a few short sprints and stuff just to keep us ticking over.

"There were plenty of goals in the fives the other day, plenty - I was banging them in, own goals as well."
