Midfielder Low, 23, has penned a pre-contact with the Dens Park club which spells the end of a long stint at Pittodrie.
The highlight of it was undoubtedly his role in the club’s League Cup triumph last season, when he coolly netted a spot-kick during a nerve-shredding penalty shootout win over Inverness Caley Thistle.
Low has agreed a three-year deal with the Dark Blues and the move will see him reunited with boss Paul Hartley, who previously took him to Alloa on loan while working as the Wasps’ manager.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: “The option to sign an extended contract with a fellow Premiership club was one which Nicky felt he couldn’t turn down.
“He’s at an important stage in his career. I’d like to thank him for his efforts during my time with the club.”
