The Greenock midfielder spent 14 years at Aberdeen before penning a three-year deal with the Dark Blues this summer and admitted it was an emotional decision to move on.

But after checking in at Dens Park, the 23-year-old Scottish League Cup winner is relishing a fresh challenge and says the club can follow the likes of Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Inverness Caley Thistle in winning a major domestic honour just like he did with the Dons in 2014.

Low, who signed a pre-contract in April, says Dundee is a club ‘on the up’ .

He is now looking forward to linking up again with former Dons captain and mentor Paul Hartley, who he also played under while on loan at Alloa three years ago.

The former St Columba’s High pupil is determined to produce why they ‘can’t produce’ a trophy for the fans who have been ‘starved of success’.

Low revealed gaffer Hartley plans to field the strongest team possible in cup competitions and is hopeful they can go all the way and get their hands on a piece of silverware.

He was speaking after modelling the new Dundee home kit for the forthcoming Premiership season.
