The Englishman was close to completing a loan move to Cappielow last night but the deal unexpectedly collapsed.
However, the transfer was resurrected today and with just hours to go until the window slammed shut in Scotland, Ton boss Kenny Shiels worked frantically to secure Vine’s signature.
The 31-year-old joins on permanent deal until the end of the season but will not be available to feature against Falkirk tomorrow due to the fact he was not registered before 5pm.
Speaking to the Tele moments ago, Shiels said: “Rowan’s a quality player and he’ll be suited to how we play. Hopefully he’ll enjoy his time at Morton.
“I thought the deal had fallen through last night but it was resurrected this morning and he’s signed with us until the end of the season. We’re delighted to get him; he’s going to help us.”
