IT"S crunch time for Port Glasgow in the battle to retain their Super League status.

With Kilsyth Rangers" shock win over title challengers Kilbirnie on Wednesday almost guaranteeing their safety, it is shaping up as a straight fight between Port Glasgow and Annbank United for the unwanted prize of the fourth and final relegation spot.

However, Maybole could still be dragged into the equation, especially if the Port can pick up three points against them when the teams clash at Ravenscraig tomorrow afternoon.

Manager Craig Brown offered this assessment of the situation: 'Our main target is Annbank, especially as they still have to travel to play Kilbirnie and Clydebank, both tough games.

'But a win tomorrow would put us just one point behind Maybole, and would put the pressure on them.'

'Kilsyth are not exactly out of it either, but fair play to them for a good result on Wednesday.

'I can"t grumble about the position we are in, after we failed to take anything from our last two games. But we have got to win tomorrow.'

The team will be boosted by the return of Ged Hoey from a course at work, and expected to feature in the starting 11. However, Kevin Struthers is still on holiday but should be available for the Port"s next match after tomorrow, which has now been confirmed as an away fixture at Lanark next Friday evening.

That means it will be into June before Port Glasgow play their final league game against Clydebank, postponed from earlier this month due to a waterlogged pitch, and further delayed by the Bankies" involvement in next Sunday"s Scottish Cup Final at Rugby Park in Kilmarnock.

Kick-off at Ravenscraig tomorrow is at 2pm.
