Port Glasgow are relegated

Print | Email

PORT GLASGOW have been relegated to the Central League First Division, after just one season in the Super League.

An excellent win over Scottish Cup runners-up Clydebank last Tuesday had given the Port hope of escaping the drop.

But their survival depended on the outcome of Saturday"s match between Annbank United and Renfrew - and the Ayrshire side"s 2-0 win gave them the points they needed to overtake the Port in the league table.

Craig Brown"s men finished in fourth bottom spot, agonisingly just one place and one point from safety.

They now take the drop to the Central League along with Shotts Bon Accord, while Kilwinning Rangers and Hurlford are relegated to the Ayrshire District League.
