GREENOCK'S Roland Fabiani won't have to worry about whether or not his team's match against Royal Albert gets the go-ahead tomorrow.
The veteran centre-half has jetted off to Lanzarote to escape the continuing chill, which threatens to leave the Ravenscraig men with another idle Saturday.
Manager Stevie Mooney is anxious for the game to go ahead.
The Albert are struggling this season and are currently propping up the Second Division table so, going by form alone, Greenock ought to be good enough to gain the three points to bolster their bid for promotion.
However, Mooney is not taking the win as a gimme.
He said: "Royal Albert certainly won't lie down to us, but we need to do it for ourselves.
"With so many games being off recently, it has been hard to gauge the squad's fitness, but I am confident that we have the players to harm Royal Albert."
Craig McCormick and Ryan MacDonald have been hit with a bug this week, but both are expected to make it for Saturday. And although he won't be involved directly, Sean Stirling will be particulary keen to see tomorrow's match going ahead.
With all the recent postponements, the big defender has, amazingly, still to serve the final match of three-game ban imposed when Methuselah was a boy.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Chris Cushnaghan has left the club.
The striker joined Greenock from Inverkip Amateurs at the start of the season but has not been able to command a regular starting berth and has now returned to the amateur ranks.
Kick-off at Ravenscraig is at at 2pm.
● Greenock Juniors are sponsored by Kingsley Wood Solicitors and Notaries, and the Lighthouse Bar.
