BOGLESTONE'S Freestyle kickboxing members held a recent 2nd Dan Black Belt grading where one adult had to endure an exhausting challenge.

Alister Kyle had a tough night when he had to perform fighting forms, free direction moves, power and sparring, and this was only the start of the onslaught of punishment he endured in this growling grading.

Alister knew what he had to do to achieve his 2nd Dan, but he did not know it would take all his stamina and years of training to complete the grading to Grand Master Marshall’s high qualifying standards.

All techniques had to be very crisp, fully extended and full of power, under the watchful eye of examiners 5th Dan Grand Master Jackie Marshall, 4th Dan Master Instructor Carol Kelly and 3rd Dan Darren Ballingal.

The grading went on longer than usual as the level of the grading was so high and all aspects had to be fully delivered from fighting forms, fixed techniques and free sparring. The instructors were extremely pleased with Alister’s pass mark and his attention to detail displayed on the night. Alister worked very hard to achieve his new level of 2nd Dan Black Belt which he passed with flying colours Carol, Darren and Jackie would like to say well done.

If you would like a free lesson, the club run training every Tuesday at Boglestone Community Centre. Call Jackie on 0777 0276071 for details.
