GARY Locke reckons Raith Rovers can feel aggrieved at coming away from Cappielow with nothing on Saturday — because he says they dominated large spells of the game.

Rovers came unstuck against Ton at the weekend, losing 2-0 thanks to goals from Ross Forbes and Lawrence Shankland.

Locke was disappointed because he had hoped his side would close the gap on the Ton with a win.

He said: “I felt we dominated large spells of the game. The first goal they scored kind of sums up our luck at the moment.

“Forbes has got quality and we’ve warned our players about that all week, but it’s just a cross that goes right into the net.

“But I thought we rallied quite well after that. We created a few chances, [Ryan] Hardie when he’s clean through should really make it 1-1. But he’s still finding his feet, he’s come from St Mirren and hasn’t played a lot of football, so he’s a wee bit rusty.

“I think we feel hard done by that we’ve lost the game. We feel deeply disappointed by the result because that was a chance to go three points behind Morton, now the gap’s open.

"But you see how tight the league is, all the other results apart from Hibs were draws.

“When Morton got their second goal I felt that we were actually the team more likely to get an equaliser.

"So it’s a sore one to take, but it seems like that’s just the way things are going at the minute.

“The only way we’re going to get back to winning is by everyone sticking together, digging in and doing the simple things. Hopefully the confidence comes back and we get a win next week."
