LIFELONG Morton fan Craig Skinner has been appointed as the club’s supporter liaison officer.

The 27-year-old is delighted to take up the voluntary role and is relishing the chance to ‘bring fans closer to Morton’.

The post is a part of the club’s ‘ongoing commitment to engaging with supporters and gaining a comprehensive understanding of all relevant matters affecting them’.

Craig said: “It’s absolutely brilliant to be appointed SLO. It’s great to be a part of the club that I’ve supported since I can remember, coming along with my dad and my brother.

“I applied because I thought I’d be a good fit for the role and feel I could hopefully bring the fans closer to the club.

“That’s the ultimate goal, so I aim to meet the different fan groups and supporters of different ages – everybody.

“I’d like to go travelling on the different supporters’ club buses to some of the away games and get to talk to the guys there, and at home I’ll be in the Cowshed and if fans want to come up and speak that’s fine and I’ll happily hang around afterwards.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of it.”

Chief executive Warren Hawke said: “We at Morton are delighted to appoint Craig to fill this new post within the club as we continue to foster ever-closer links and relations with our supporters.

“Craig was an exceptional applicant whose passion for the club and potential for this role really stood out. We are confident we have the right man and look forward to working closely with him going forward.”
