MORTON captain Lee Kilday is a doubt for tonight’s crunch game with Hibernian after injuring his ankle in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Dunfermline at Cappielow.

Kilday was subbed at half-time against the Pars following an innocuous challenge which caused the recurrence of the ankle problem that kept him out of action for several weeks earlier this season.

And while the defender is desperate to be involved in such a huge fixture for the club, he admits he’s content to go along with whatever decision boss Jim Duffy makes on the night.

He told the Tele: “I’ve been struggling a bit with my ankle since near the start of the season and its just the same place again.

“It’s not been right since I’ve come back and the boy’s landed on the same spot, so it was a bit sore.

“I struggled to run it off and the gaffer said at the time he didn’t want to take the risk.

“I didn’t train on Monday and did a wee bit yesterday so I don’t know, I’ll need to see how it feels.

“I’ve had wee niggles here and there and missed a few games because of it, and it seems to just keep causing me problems at the moment.

“I’ll just see what the gaffer thinks, if he wants to risk it and see how it is.

“Away to Hibs is a massive game, but if I need to miss it, I need to miss it.

“I’ll be wanting to play but we’ll see how it is nearer the time.”
