HIBS boss Neil Lennon branded Kudus Oyenuga a ‘disgrace’ after a chaotic end to his teams’ goalless draw with Morton at Easter Road.

Oyenuga was shown a straight red card for a lunge on Jordon Forster in the dying minutes of the 0-0 stalemate, before the Ton striker hit the deck clutching his face following an altercation with Hibs captain Darren McGregor.

Lennon insists the SFA beaks should throw the book at Oyenuga — who he blames for starting the melee between both sides just before the full-time whistle.

Lennon said: “Here’s my take on what happened — Oyenuga tried to break Jordon Forster’s leg.

“Then he feigns a headbutt. Darren McGregor didn’t make any contact.

“The next thing I’ve got the Morton manager asking for a square-go, which is fair enough. I’m not going to back down. Then I’ve got the assistant manager, the Morton players coming at me.

“But it’ll be bad old Lenny. Lenny’s fault, Lenny started it. Rubbish.

“I didn’t react differently to any other manager to a tackle like that. It’s disgraceful. The boy’s behaviour is embarrassing.

"Not only has he tried to break my player’s leg, he’s got my captain sent off as well in an act of cowardice.

“If they throw the book at me, Jim and his assistant, then they should throw the book at Oyenuga more than anybody because he started it all.

“It’s disgraceful behaviour from a professional footballer. We’ll appeal Darren’s red card as well, because it was embarrassing.”

Lennon was involved in a square-off with Morton boss Jim Duffy and assistant Craig McPherson after the challenge, and the Hibs boss insists he was just standing his ground.

He said: “When you’ve got a wave of people coming up to your face for not doing anything wrong, you will stand your ground. I’m not having it. Jim Duffy has come all the way from his technical area into mine, I haven’t done anything other than shout at his player and I have every right to do that.

“He would do exactly the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. To compound it, the boy feigns injury as if he’s been headbutted.

“It’s disgraceful. No wonder I was angry.”
