MORTON manager Jim Duffy and assistant Craig McPherson have been charged with a breach of disciplinary rules
by the SFA following the touchline bust-up at the end of last week’s 0-0 draw at Easter Road.

Duffy and McPherson face a charge of alleged misconduct for ‘entering the Hibs technical area and adopting an aggressive attitude to Hibs manager Neil Lennon’.

SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan took the disciplinary action following the confrontation, with the two clubs — as well as Easter Road boss Lennon — also facing misconduct charges.

Duffy and McPherson have been asked to attend a principal hearing on Thursday April 20 and have until Tuesday to respond to the complaint.

Neither Morton nor the coaching staff will make any further comment.

Striker Kudus Oyenuga has been told he won’t face further sanctions following his red card in last Wednesday’s clash.

McGlennan reviewed footage of his confrontation with Hibs captain Darren McGregor following his challenge on Jordon Forster and ruled that there is not enough evidence to charge the Morton striker with a breach of simulation causing a match official to make an incorrect decision.

The Ton striker is in the middle of a two-game ban and will miss this weekend’s reverse fixture, but will be available for the Renfrewshire derby against St Mirren on April 11.
