MORTON ran out comfortable victors against Edinburgh City on Saturday afternoon — but their impressive 5-0 win wasn’t enough to seal their passage into the last 16 of the Betfred Cup.
Strikers Bob McHugh and Robert Thomson both bagged braces, with Jai Quitongo’s also netting his first goal since returning from injury.
But results elsewhere meant that Ton would not make it through Group F as one of the top four best runners up of the cup group stages.
