CONNOR McManus reckons Morton boss Jim Duffy has plenty of good options to choose from in his squad to mix things up tactically.
McManus has thus far been used as a bit-part player at Cappielow but the 21-year-old started in midfield for Ton against Queen of the South on Saturday afternoon.
Andy Murdoch was out injured after suffering a calf injury late on Thursday afternoon but Ton boss Duffy had no qualms pitching McManus in.
And the ex-Celtic midfielder believes his manager has finally got his wish to have different yet equally valuable options to suit the opposition.
He told the Tele: “The manager has always said he has always wanted certain players for certain games and game plans and I think we’ve got that now.
“Especially in the middle of the park we’ve got players who can play a variety of different styles. I think it’s all about the striking up of good relationships with your team-mates and that can only help being part of a winning team as well.
“We were absolutely delighted coming away with the three points from a very tough place to go. Queen of the South have started the season really well, so the way we played was fantastic.
"Once we got our goals I think we were pretty solid defensively, their quick goal aside.”
