MORTON stopper Derek Gaston hopes his side can get back on form next week after dropping points at home to Falkirk last Saturday.

Gaston earlier this week admitted he made the mistake that cost his team against the Bairns and says he would prefer to be in competition this afternoon rather than playing in a friendly at Ibrox.

But the 30-year-old keeper reckons the week in training — added to the closed doors experience in Glasgow — can help Ton get back to winning ways against Darren Dods’ Brechin in a week’s time.

He told the Tele: “After losing last weekend’s game against Falkirk we want to get it out of our system and move on.

“You want to get back on a winning run so it’s always disappointing to be without a competitive game following a defeat.

“But we’ve had a week to work on things to build ourselves up and get ready to go again against Brechin City next week.”
