MORTON midfielder Michael Tidser insists his side are relaxed heading into today’s visit of Dumbarton.

Ton have finished the first quarter of fixtures and are back to the beginning again with the Sons ready for the trip to Greenock

Tidser insists last weekend’s win at Glebe Park has given his side a renewed sense of optimism.

But the midfielder — who could miss this afternoon’s action through injury — says nobody at Cappielow will be getting ahead of themselves and will continue to work tirelessly, and quietly, to stay in the hunt for promotion.

He told the Tele: “The team are feeling good, feeling confident. Especially after a good win against Brechin last week.

“It’s a very competitive league we’re in.

“There’s an opportunity for teams in the division — look at Livingston, you’d never think they would be sitting up in second place.

“But they are, and they’re up there on merit.

“It’s a long season. But we can compete against every team and that’s our objective from now until the end of the season.

“We’ll continue to fly under the radar, that’s the way the manager works.

“Plain sailing, get on with our business and try to win games. It was a great win last Saturday and we’ll hope to emulate that this afternoon and then in the derby after that.”
