MORTON midfielder Michael Tidser hopes his injury scare is just a minor setback but he looks set to miss Saturday’s Renfrewshire derby.
Tidser over-extended himself in training last week, as revealed in the Tele, and sat out Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Dumbarton at Cappielow.
But the 27-year-old has since explained that the problem may be worse than expected and could rule him out of the weekend’s trip to Paisley.
He said: “I got the scan results back and have small tears to my adductor and some tears in the lower abdomen.
“It happened at training last Monday. I stretched my leg back to drag the ball through and just kind of felt a rip basically. I knew something wasn’t right straight away.
“It’s unfortunate because I’ve been fit all season, so hopefully it’s just a minor setback and I can get back fit soon.
“It’s one of those ones where I have to take each day as it comes. The chances of me being fit for Saturday are slim.”
