ROBERT Thomson has praised Dunfermline for their bright start to the Championship season but he believes Morton can cause them problems in tonight’s game.

The Pars began their campaign with a bang and were sitting pretty at the top of the table thanks to some impressive victories over Dumbarton, St Mirren and Inverness.

Thomson insists Allan Johnston’s side look the part despite tailing off a wee bit in recent weeks.

But the Ton striker believes his side can upset the apple cart by claiming a win at East End Park tonight to help close the gap in the table.

He told the Tele: “You can see the quality Dunfermline have and they started the season with all guns blazing.

“But it’s the same every time — any team in this league is going to be difficult to play against.

“With every team so close together, if someone can string three or four wins together that will obviously give them a good opportunity to move up the table.

“Hopefully this game can act as that for us and we can play well enough to come away with the points and the win.

“We’ve had a couple of weeks without competitive football so maybe that will do us some good.”
