PAUL Hartley reckons his Falkirk side deserve credit for their defensive set-up during their 1-0 win over Morton on Saturday.
Falkirk bested the Greenock outfit at Cappielow at the weekend and Hartley was delighted that his players were able to hold on despite Ton’s best efforts.
He praised his team’s ability to keep Morton quiet in the attacking area — as they worked hard to keep Jim Duffy’s men in check.
He said: “It was a game we had to dig in hard for in terms of dealing with set-plays and balls into the box. It was a terrific result for us after the midweek game.
“The team is beginning to gel and there are a lot of positive signs so to come here and win 1-0, it’s been a tough period and there have been difficult games but I can see we’re building a team with a lot of energy now.
“The players deserve the credit and we knew the game plan.
“It was to deal with the physical aspect of it and the directness of balls into the box and credit to
our defenders that they did their jobs.”
