MORTON boss Jim Duffy believes his side’s recent schedule would test even the best teams in the country.

Duffy’s side take on their seventh away game out of their last eight fixtures today at East End Park, Dunfermline.

They began their mini tour of Scotland during the middle of last month with a 1-1 draw with Queen of the South down at Palmerston.

After that game they faced two testing away fixtures at Dumbarton and Inverness Caley Thistle — winning both.

They ended the month of February with a slender defeat at home to Livingston, before another three consecutive road trips to Celtic, Falkirk and Livingston.

And now it’s away game number seven this weekend.

Duffy said: “This is our seventh away game in the last eight. That is tough for any team, no matter what level you’re at.

That’s a tough period for any team. Even the very top teams would find that a tough series of games.

“But all credit to the players. We had one 45 minute spell against Falkirk where we all under performed but in the rest of those games we really competed, including against Celtic.

“So the players deserve a lot of credit for putting that type of effort in.

“But we have to do it again tomorrow and we’ll need to maintain that until the end of the season.”

Duffy believes his players’ attitude has been a key ingredient during their hectic period of fixtures.

He said: “Their attitude has always been there and our fitness levels have always been good.

“Even in the Falkirk game, where we didn’t play well, we got stronger in the game.

“We were the team growing into the game. So that attitude is always important, vitally important, really.”
