morton striker Brian Graham is hoping the pre-season trip to Austria will give him a chance to impress manager Davie Irons.
The youngster went out on loan to East Stirlingshire last season and impressed, getting among the goals and going so close to helping ex-Ton gaffer Jim McInally"s men to promotion.
They fell at the play-off hurdle, but it was a remarkable transformation in the club"s fortunes.
Now Graham, who has a year left on his Cappielow contract, wants to prove he can do the same job in the First Division. He said: 'This is my first time to Austria. I"m really looking forward to it.
'We"ve got through some hard work since the start of pre-season, with double sessions.
'It"s been good; very intensive. Now we"re going out to Austria [the team leave today] and we have two games. I need to try to impress.
'I believe everyone in the squad will get a chance to show the manager what we can do.'
The team return on Sunday and, after at least three friendlies, they go into the first league match against many people"s pre-season title favourites Dundee at Dens Park.
'Everyone"s relishing that game,' said Graham. 'They"re one of the contenders and have brought in some good players, but we are looking forward to it. We are all looking for a good start to the league.'
