FIT AGAIN: Erik Paartalu has recovered from an ankle injury and has trained a couple of times with no adverse reaction.
MORTON manager James Grady is still on the search for a striker to augment his squad, but it is a frustrating time.
The Ton boss said: "We are still looking for loan players. We are trying to be patient, but not too patient.
"We need to add to the striking department. We're fine in central midfield, though the defence is a wee bit light. Some clubs may be prepared to do loans in March, but it's the same old story - their priorities aren't ours."
Young English striker Donovan Simmonds remains a possible signing, but the problem has been fixing up a bounce game to see him in action again.
He has played a couple of times in friendlies, but Grady wanted another look at the 21-year-old before making a decision one way or the other. He said: "We were trying to arrange a bounce game early this week, but no pitches were available and SPL clubs are playing midweek games and don't want to use their pitches."
The only bonus for the Cappielow club is that midfielder Erik Paartalu has trained with no ill effect after his recent ankle injury.
The players managed to get a session in at the Battery Park yesterday.
Meanwhile, management duo Grady and Allan McManus were running the rule over possible signings for next season at the weekend.
