Ton face long away trip...again
MORTON have been drawn away to Third Division side Stranraer in the first round of next season's Challenge Cup.
The tie, which will take place on Saturday 23 July, will be the club's first competitive outing of the season.
Ton travelled to Stair Park in the first round of the League Cup last season - romping to a 7-1 victory, with Stewart Kean grabbing a hat-trick
But while Ton boss Allan Moore is confident of progressing, he bemoaned the fact his side were denied a home draw in the cups yet again.
Astonishingly, only four of the club's last 21 cup draws have been at home.
Moore said: "It's an away tie and I don't think the chairman will be too happy.
"We were looking for a home tie but we haven't had one of those in so long.
"We got a good start there last year when we won 7-1 but I don't see it being like that again this year.
"But it's one we can win and that's the main thing.
"Hopefully we will have the team up and running by then."

Report commentIf this was Celtic then there would be an uproar and Lennon would be greetin about it being a conspiracy. But its Morton and we'll we'll just get on with it.
A nice wee trip down to Stranraer.
