MORTON reserves maintained their unbeaten run to the season but were unable to add a ninth straight win when they were held to a goalless draw by Airdrie United last night.

The Greenock club's second string remain at the top of the Reserve League ahead of second place Rangers and Airdrie in third.

The match had been set to be played at Cappielow but was subject to a late switch to Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium.

And the change proved disruptive to Ton's winning rhythm which had seen the reserves win each of their matches this term - scoring 23 goals in the process.

Their form had been enough to force Tony Wallace, Kyle Wilkie and Lewis Hawke into the first-team squad in recent weeks.

However, the trio were back in action for David Hopkin's young side last night - known as the Bomb Squad - and were left frustrated by an Airdrie side that are now unbeaten in their last three fixtures.
