Duo sign for Morton

ALLAN Moore has snapped up two of his signing targets - and he revealed he may throw them straight into action for tomorrow's Renfrewshire Cup final against St Mirren.

ALLAN Moore has confirmed the signings of Slovak defenders Tomas Peciar and Michal Habai - and says he may throw them straight into action against St Mirren tomorrow.

The pair were awaiting clearance from the SFZ [Slovak FA], which has now been received, and Moore anticipates no further red tape-related issues.

With Thomas O'Ware ruled out for between three and four months and Jonathan Page and Marc Fitzpatrick rated doubtful, the Ton boss says both Peciar and Habai could start tomorrow.

He told the Tele: "Tomas and Michal have both signed for a year and that gives us more options at the back.

"It's two good acquisitions. They're good players. Even in training you can see they've got a bit of quality and they're good lads as well, so we'll see how they go.

"We might need to start both of them tomorrow because Marc Fitzpatrick is feeling his foot a wee bit so he might not be fully fit.

"Jonathan Page twisted his ankle in the game [against Viewfield] on Tuesday night and Thomas O'Ware got the results of his scan back and looks as if he'll be out for four months. That's a blow.

"Big Kabba [Modou Cham] has been training but I don't think he's fully match fit, because he's not done much training over the summer. He's not up to the same fitness levels as the rest of the boys so far, and playing against St Mirren you've got to be ready and sharp. On the other hand, I don't think it suits Archie up there himself.

"So we'll have a wee look at things again after today's training session and again tomorrow and see who we've got fit and available before we pick our team."
